Hello, hungry ones. Do you find yourself stuck sometimes? It’s normal. Sorry, but we are bound to feel meh sometimes. Especially when stressed. Have this green tea and cucumber smoothie, it may help. Now how?

Talking to my boo the other night, we both realised that my attention span was off. In fact, we both said that I was kinda off – and I think I know that throughout this academic year (I say academic year because as a teacher, years start and end by school years, go figure). Add to the fact that the school year is nearly finished. I feel this meme:

It might just be an end of the day tiredness but hey whatever. I am not like this at all. I asked myself what’s different between me last year and me this year: attitude (was more grateful then), diet (was a strict vegetarian then), and exercise (religiously did daily exercise, HIIT, 3 cycles per day, everyday). Then I got disappointed big time (hello, visa) and then a series of disappointments happened (still no bank account). I just got tired of it all. I felt like I can’t get what I want, and it was endless. It felt like… I never had options and was only doing this to live up to everyone’s expectations. It’s exhausting and this was turning me into something I’m not. Heck, I am miserable. But well, life is a bitch sometimes. In my 27 years of existence I am always told (and experienced) that life has ups and downs. I tell myself to stay patient anyway because the downs don’t last.

Since April, I told myself to wake up from this rut. I swore to eat healthier and happier (as in no sad animals)! I bought myself a small blender to do that, and I routinely craft what is to become my breakfasts and dinners. This is by far my favourite as it has green tea that zaps calories. The cucumber also makes me feel summery and refreshed, boosting my mood! I hope it becomes yours too!

What you need:

  • 1 cup cold green tea
  • 1 small cucumber, sliced
  • 1/2 lemon, squeezed
  • 1 stalk celery

*you can add honey if you want

What to do:

  1. Combine everything in the blender vessel and… press blend. Transfer to a glass and be proud of yourself. Smile. Garnish with a slice of lemon if you feel fancy. Enjoy your drink!
