Contrary to popular notion, when I think of tropical, I think of papaya and its starry leaves. Not the palm. That’s the beach for me. Papaya has been a frenemy for me. My parents forced it to me as a kid because I would always get trouble going to the toilet for days and the papaya makes things work. However, they like it mushy. I don’t. Now that I’m grown up, I have grown to love papaya too, but the crunchy, not overripe kind. Before we go off tangent here, I want to present the papaya smoothie. The refreshing, easy to drink papaya goodness, without the issue of being overripe or not (yes, I’m quite finicky with textures).

What you need:

  • 1/2 c papaya, cubed
  • 1/2 c yogurt
  • 1 c green tea
  • 1/2 lime
  • honey to taste (optional)

What to do:

  1. As per any smoothie, blend all the ingredients in the recipe until satisfied with the texture. Put in the fridge or freezer if you want it to be served cold. Enjoy!
